Description

The Troponin Test measures the level of cardiac troponin (Troponin I and/or Troponin T) in your blood. Troponin is a protein found in heart muscle cells and is released into the bloodstream when the heart muscle is damaged.

• Packaging Instructions: A blood sample will be collected by a qualified healthcare professional.
  The sample should be collected into the appropriate serum or plasma collection tube as specified by the laboratory.
  Ensure the sample is clearly labeled with the patient's full name, age, and collection time, as timing is important for interpretation.
  Transport the specimen to the laboratory immediately according to standard specimen handling procedures.
  If serial troponin testing has been requested, ensure each sample is collected at the specified time intervals.


• Other Instructions: Fasting is not required for this test.
  If you are experiencing symptoms such as severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, or pain spreading to your arm, shoulder, neck, or jaw, seek emergency medical attention immediately. Do not delay care while waiting for laboratory testing.
  Inform your healthcare provider about any recent heart procedures, heart disease, kidney disease, or major injuries, as these may influence troponin levels.
  Multiple blood samples may be required over several hours to detect changes in troponin levels and improve diagnostic accuracy.
  Continue taking prescribed medications unless your healthcare provider advises otherwise. Troponin test results should always be interpreted alongside your symptoms, ECG findings, and other clinical assessments.
